Decatur (GA) Alumni Assists During Senate Run-off Election in Georgia

On January 5, 2021, the Decatur Alumni Chapter celebrated a little differently. COVID19 restrictions wouldn’t allow for the usual social events that help us celebrate the founding of the fraternity. This year led the chapter to a cause unlike any other as the world watched Georgia in a senate run-off. The brothers of Decatur Alumni Chapter, in collaboration with the MACK (Metro Atlanta Coalition of Kappas), decided to take action and again encourage registrants to vote.

The brothers gathered at Stonecrest Mall in 40-degree weather to encourage voting in a non-partisan way by partnering with the Election Protection Committee. District 5 Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson joined the chapter’s efforts and captured some moments with the brothers and later published an article in her District news calendar. What a way to celebrate Founders’ Day safely and aligning with our objective to inspire service in the public’s interest.
